One of the more unique positions at The Wilds, our concierge staff tend to the daily needs of our overnight guests at Nomad Ridge. With shifts ranging from afternoon and evening to overnight and morning, our concierges assist guests with everything from check in and check out to booking experiences and answering questions.


  • Act as a representative of the Wilds including appropriate dress, language and attitude.
  • Perform daily check in and out of guests.
  • Greet and inform guest of pertinent information and assist with guest requests.
  • Assist in daily housekeeping/light grounds keep tasks, heavy lifting required.
  • Learn and present wildlife and natural resource programs.
  • Lead interpretive hikes.
  • Maintain supplies and amenities.
  • Assist guests with luggage.
  • Perform sunset or other special tours from provided content when asked.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Strive to further the mission of the organization and support the Wilds, Zoo, Zoombezi Bay and Safari Golf Club.
  • Posted schedule may be subject to change based on operational needs such as weather condition, guest attendance and department needs.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of natural ecosystems, native wildlife and conservation issues.
  • High level of motivation and enthusiasm.
  • Positive, professional attitude.
  • Public speaking ability required.
  • Ability to make responsible decisions.
  • Ability to adapt easily to changing circumstances in a busy work place.
  • Public service experience.
  • Ability to operate a two-way radio.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Computer skills including spreadsheets, database and word processing.
  • Ability to work 24 hour shifts.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including holidays, weekends and evenings.
  • Ability to provide excellent guest service and uphold the Make it G.R.E.A.T. standards.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with all Wilds/Zoo team members.
  • Communicate well both verbally and in writing required.
  • Plan and organize work in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Possession of a valid Ohio driver’s license and a good driving record is a must.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
