  From breakfast, lunch and dinner to groups both large and small – casual and high end dining and catering for them all! – As a chef/cook at The Wilds there are a variety of shifts and guests you may be preparing food for. Our restaurant provides table service breakfast and dinner for our overnight lodging guests, supplies meals for our various education camps, and also assists in high volume catering for various groups and corporate outings.

    In the Rides and Attractions department, our team is dedicated to a great guest experience every day. We value safety, teamwork, and fun as we operate over 20 rides and attractions throughout the Zoo. This position will focus on delivering that experience at the 4D Theater, Dive into Adventure Program, and Dinosaur Island.  

  This Conservation Education Lead will work with staff to provide quality education programs and excellent customer service to guests of The Wilds. This Lead will facilitate education opportunities for families, scout troops, campers, and a variety of other audiences. In addition, this Lead will assist with administrative tasks in the office. This includes assisting guests in the registration and reservation process, helping to maintain program records, and any additional office needs.   This is a 10-month position, 30-40 hours per week.

  The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and Zoombezi Bay’s Security Team takes great pride in our ability to maintain a safe and secure environment for our staff, guests, animal collection, and infrastructure with a high level of dedication and professionalism. Security Team Members may work at various locations throughout the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, the Parking Lot and Zoombezi Bay. Security team members operate with discipline and vigilance, focusing on observing, mitigating, and interdicting behaviors and interactions inconsistent with our organizations values and goals. Security team members constantly maintain a visible and approachable attitude, in order to meet the needs of our guests and deter unwanted behaviors. The Security team member’s ability to operate both independently and in collaboration with other team members and supporting agencies strengthens our ability to respond to all emergencies, calls for service and guest inquiries.  

  Greeting and building a relationship with our guests before they ever enter our parks, the contact center acts as a vital link between the zoo and our community. The contact center is responsible for dispensing a wide range of information for the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Zoombezi Bay, and The Wilds in a quick and efficient manner via phone call or email. As a Wilds interpretive tour guide you will criss cross The Wilds pasture areas with guests amongst wild and endangered animal species. After picking up your safari vehicle for the day you will load your guests and interpret The Wilds animals, landscape, projects, and partnerships by fulfilling The Wilds mission of leading and inspiring by connecting people and wildlife.

Be the true face of The Wilds as a Shuttle Driver or Parking Attendant! In these positions you are the first to greet our guests and start them on their day of conservation and fun. Get them parked and oriented before dropping them off at the Johnson Visitor Center to begin their day.

  As a member of our Zoombezi Bay Admissions team, you have the opportunity to be the first or last impression to thousands of guests. Our team has a variety of responsibilities including, ticket sales, guest entry and exit, Zoompass operations, Cabana and Premium lounger operations, rentals, and slide attendant duties throughout Zoombezi Bay grounds. A Zoombezi Bay Admissions team member works outside every day, and It requires a lot of time spent on your feet. Team members will also be First Aid/CPR trained. If you are friendly, outgoing, and a GREAT communicator, Zoombezi Bay Admissions is the place for you!

  Members of our golf course maintenance team enjoy working in the great outdoors preparing the golf course for play every day. You will learn a variety of fun and challenging tasks throughout the season and enjoy the camaraderie and benefits of being part of our team. We are seeking energetic and fun people to join our rewarding summer experience.

  The Zoo's Paramedic staff's days are never without plenty to do. Between preparing the EMS cart and inventorying all EMS response bags their day can change depending on what is going on around our parks. You may spend most of the day treating anything from scrapes and bumps and bee stings to more serious medical events. In the event that there are not a lot of patients to treat, you may be tasked to complete “safety surveys” at various locations at the parks. Utilizing your expertise in hazard identification to inspect work locations for fire hazards, trip hazards, etc.. Think this position may be for you? Apply today!

  Starting most mornings in Zoombezi Bay, our Rides Maintenance crew does everything from visually inspecting slides to minor repairs, cleaning and testing water quality. Bring your swimsuits for cleaning pools and testing out the fun features on our attractions like Baboon Lagoon before the park opens. If you like to know how things work, are detailed oriented and a little adventurous, you may have a future with the Rides Maintenance Team!

One of the first team members to interact with our guests, the membership team serve as ambassadors for the zoo, engaging our members while promoting and distributing materials to Columbus Zoo, Zoombezi Bay and The Wilds members. If you’re enthusiastic and comfortable entering accurate data on a computer, this may be the job for you!

    This is a part-time position offered between April and September.
