Our Baker provides the baked-from-scratch, fresh pastries our guests enjoy from several of our food service concepts.  Baked from scratch, we offer breakfast pastries, snacks and desserts. 

 

 

During Wildlights, our Baker is the First Elf in Mrs. Claus' Kitchen, providing the seasonal pastries our guests look forward to each year.  In addition to preparing our fresh-baked cookies and pastries, the Baker may be asked to lend their expertise to other concepts providing opportunities to learn new skills while having fun interacting with other team members and hundreds or even thousands of guests daily.

Responsibilities

  • Determines quantity and variety of baked goods to bake by reviewing and following the production schedule and orders from each food service area.
  • Prepares bakery items according to prescribed recipes and presentation.
  • Maintain a proper bake by closely monitoring product and adjusting thermostatic controls and bake times.
  • Enhancing the quality of food offerings across property by accepting ownership for the quality of bakery products produced.
  • Opens, closes and maintains cleanliness of food stands and equipment.
  • Assists in the production of other commissary items as required, including the preparation of produce, salads, sandwiches, and confectionary items.
  • Adheres to health/safety regulations.
  • Adheres to uniform and employee policies and regulations.
  • Position may require job rotation within the Food & Beverage Department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Reports directly to Team Lead and/or Section Lead

Qualifications

  • Previous commercial baking experience or technical education required.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
  • Able to perform physical work for extended periods.
  • Able to stand or walk for long periods (5+ hours) without a break.
  • Able to lift and move up to 10lbs. constantly, 30lbs. frequently, and 50lbs. occasionally.
  • Able to balance multiple assignments successfully.
  • Able to work in varied weather conditions (i.e. extreme heat, rain).
  • Able to work in extreme heat environments (exceeding 110˚F) for extended periods.
  • Able to work in extreme cold environments (to below -40˚F) for limited periods with proper protective equipment.
  • Able to maintain courteous and helpful behavior.
  • Able to maintain appropriate employee appearance.
  • Able to pass ServSafe Food Handler (or similar) food safety written exam.
  • This position is not eligible for overtime pay.
  • Subject to Drug Free Workplace Policy.
  • Subject to BMV check.
  • Subject to Criminal Background check.
