WAITLIST

As a member of our Zoo Guest Relations team, you have the opportunity to be one of the first or last impressions to millions of guests. Our team has a variety of responsibilities including parking booths, rentals, ticket sales, guest entry and exit as well as being an ambassador throughout Zoo grounds.
The Guest Relations team works inside and outside every day. It requires a lot of time spent on your feet. If you are friendly, outgoing, and a GREAT communicator, Guest Relations is the place for you!

Responsibilities

  • Answers phone calls and emails in relation to all Zoo departments while providing exceptional customer service.
  • May work in gate, guest relations, rentals, ticket booth and/or parking booth areas of the admissions department.
  • Communicates clearly all policies and entry requirements to guests
  • Transacts ticket sales.
  • Maintains excellent guest relations and interfaces with guests in resolution of inquiries.
  • Staff after-hours gate and special events as necessary.
  • Welcomes guests entering the park regarding general park information and memberships.
  • Performs typing, data entry, filing and general office duties for designated areas.
  • Promoting memberships, special events, educational offerings and other Zoo related offerings as appropriate.
  • Utilize Salesforce database to log all calls and inquiries.
  • Position may require job rotation within department as operational needs dictate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 15 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and via email.
  • Computer knowledge/skills.
  • PC skills required (knowledge of Excel, and Microsoft Word preferred).
  • Able to successfully pass a cash handling training program.
  • Able to lift bank bag weighing up to 20lbs.
  • Able to balance multiple assignments successfully.
  • Able to work in varied weather conditions (i.e. extreme heat, rain).
  • Able to maintain courteous and helpful behavior.
  • Able to maintain appropriate employee appearance (see uniform guidelines at each time clock and the employee handbook).
  • Able to work flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • This position is not eligible for overtime pay.
  • Subject to Drug Free Workplace Policy.
  • Subject to BMV check.
  • Subject to Criminal Background check.
