Join The Wilds as a Seasonal Food Service Attendant, where you'll provide excellent guest service while assisting with food preparation and sales. If you thrive in a fast-paced food service environment and enjoy interacting with guests, this role is for you!

Responsibilities

Guest Service & Sales

  • Greet and provide all guests with prompt, friendly service.
  • Execute accurate sales transactions for record-keeping purposes.
  • Encourage guests to round up their sale to support conservation efforts.

Food & Beverage Operations

  • Assist with food preparation for daily guests, groups, and overnight visitors.
  • Learn and follow ServSafe guidelines to ensure a safe and sanitary food environment.
  • Maintain work areas, including restocking, inventory management, and cleaning.
  • Assist in maintaining the dining room and deck spaces.
  • Adhere to Responsible Alcohol Policy guidelines.
  • Provide support to other Visitor Operations and Park Operations roles as needed.

Wilds Knowledge & Team Collaboration

  • Learn about The Wilds and its species to accurately answer guest questions.
  • Maintain open communication with the Area Lead, Kitchen Coordinator, and Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Strive to further the mission of The Wilds and support The Zoo, Zoombezi Bay, and Safari Golf Club.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Customer service and sales experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Positive, professional attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good math, communication, and keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to adapt easily to a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate a two-way radio.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Positive attitude with a commitment to excellent service and upholding guest service standards.
  • Ability to plan and organize work efficiently.

Compliance & Safety

  • Possession of a valid state-issued driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
  • Subject to Drug-Free Workplace Policy, Criminal Background Check, and BMV Check.
  • This position is not eligible for overtime pay.
