The Zoo's Paramedic staff's days are never without plenty to do. Between preparing the EMS cart and inventorying all EMS response bags their day can change depending on what is going on around our parks. You may spend most of the day treating anything from scrapes and bumps and bee stings to more serious medical events.
In the event that there are not a lot of patients to treat, you may be tasked to complete “safety surveys” at various locations at the parks. Utilizing your expertise in hazard identification to inspect work locations for fire hazards, trip hazards, etc.. Think this position may be for you? Apply today!

• Respond to first aid emergencies, and operate and maintain related equipment.
• Administer competent first aid care to guests and employees within required training levels.
• Staffs First Aid locations throughout the park.
• Must be familiar with park and proper access to each area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• 19 years of age or older.
• Valid Ohio Paramedic certification.
• Must have current TB test.
• Valid CPR card.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to work in varied weather conditions (i.e. extreme heat, rain).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to comprehend and speak the English language.
• Able to maintain courteous and helpful behavior.
• Able to maintain appropriate employee appearance (see uniform guidelines at each time clock and the employee handbook).
• Able to work flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
• This position is not eligible for overtime pay.
