During the height of the season there is never a dull moment in the cash room. From building banks, checking cashiers in/out, counting money and data entry there is always something to do. If you have a great attention to detail and love numbers, then the cash room might be the position for you.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures daily cash room functions (ie. opening, maintaining and counting money, vault balancing and reporting) are completed in a timely manner
  • Monitor and manage cash flow
  • Prepares starting banks and distributes them to corresponding locations
  • Creates and distributes daily operating reports and various other reports
  • Counts, rolls and wraps money
  • Balances vault counts and prepares deposits daily
  • Delivers deposits/change requests to local bank branch in company vehicle
  • Handles change requests
  • Lift bank bags weighing up to 50lbs
  • Balance multiple assignments successfully
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space
  • Maintains adequate office inventory stock at offices
  • Problem solve and handle situations as they arise when the supervisor is not available
  • Implements sustainable practices in daily tasks whenever possible
  • Constantly strives to further the mission of the organization and avidly supports the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Zoombezi Bay, Safari Golf Club and The Wilds.
  • Preforms other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to perform basic math and understand basic accounting and cash handling
  • Ability to stand/walk for an hour or more at a time
  • Able to be trustworthy and honest with the management of organizational finances
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to plan and organize work in an efficient and cost-effective manner and without direct supervision required
  • Ability to provide excellent guest service by positively interacting with guests and upholding the Make it G.R.E.A.T. standards required
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with all Wilds team members and contacts regarding company business required
  • Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures including but not limited to safety protocols required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays required
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and a good driving required
  • Ability to adhere to the Columbus Zoo and Aquariums drug-free workplace policy including but not limited to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion and follow-up treatment required
  • Ability to successfully complete a criminal history background check
